Once upon a time, I wanted to be a jeweler. Then I went to a workshop where Ellen Wieske taught me how to make wire baskets. A couple of years later, I woke up one morning and and thought, “I bet I could make one in the shape of a female torso.”
I could, and I did. And then I couldn’t stop.
So much for jewelry.
I have come to think of this project as a sort of pilgrimage.
